A 2011 Challenge

Last year, a bunch of my friends the blogs I follow challenged themselves by taking a picture everyday in 2010. I'm not sure where the "resolution" came from, but I enjoyed looking at their life through their camera lens. And have decided to try it myself this year. I think it'll be a good way to get more familiar with my DSLR camera (which I currently use as if it's a "Point-and-Shoot") and will hopefully help me get back to blogging without the pressure of having to write more than a sentence or two. I can't promise that the pictures will be POSTED every day, but they will be TAKEN each day.

UPDATE: (October 2011) My laptop died back in March. It took a looooooong time to get it back. I'm working on uploading pictures I took while I was computer-less. But I'll be honest...there definitely wasn't 1 picture a day. Maybe next year...

6/30/11 - Sand?

If you only knew how amazing this castle was!  It was HUGE.  But I wanted to show you the details that were carved into this sandcastle.  Amazing!

6/29/11 - Seeing Double

It's not always fun having a Yankee fan for a mother.  Especially when you're going to Summer Bible Club in Red Sox country!

6/27/11 - A Hike Through Sessions Woods

Hiking is tough when you're legs are short.  Good thing she's light and cute.

6/26/11 - I Can't Hear You

Our house can be loud.  It doesn't help that certain people enjoy listening to their music at extreme volumes.  It also doesn't help that everyone in the family is not a fan of the same type of music.  This is how we solve moments like that.

6/28/11 - Chickens, Chickens, Chickens...Look at all those Chickens

I can't really comment on this picture...it makes me laugh too hard...

6/25/11 - Bucket Brigade

What's more fun than washing Daddy's car?  How about hiding in the bucket that's being used to wash his car?

6/18/11 - A River Runs Through It

This is the 2nd summer that we've gone to my Aunt and Uncle's Hunter Mountain house for a day trip.  We all have a blast down at the river.  The rocks are so flat and smooth and the water is incredibly clear. I had to try and capture it.

6/16/11 - Exhaustion

I love this picture! This is clearly the point when the sugar high of the last day of school party has worn off and collided with the beautiful 80 degree day and subsequent 2 hours on the playground. There is no fake sleeping in this picture.

6/14/11 - His Sleeping Cap

In the interest of full disclosure, this is C faking sleep.  But he trully did sleep in his birthday crown this night.  By the time I came back up with my camera, he was awake, so I made him close his eyes and pretend!  The best part...it isn't even the triplet's real birthday!  But since they have summer birthdays, the school lets them choose a day to be celebrated.

6/6/11 - The Violinist

Z's end-of-the-year violin chapel.  I can't believe she's played for 2 full years already!

6/11/11 - The First Baseman

T loves playing first base.

6/12/11 - Dangerous Fun

The kids wanted me to take pictures of them jumping on the Razors.  To catch the air, I had to lay on the ground and they scooted straight at me.  It was slightly scary...but a great lesson in shutter speed!

5/15/11 - Safety First

Really?  What can I say?  This is what happens when Dad's in charge...
